Today's Hunter in South Dakota

Today’s Hunter: A Guide to Hunting Responsibly and Safely is the official student manual for South Dakota’s HuntSAFE (Safety and Firearms Education) courses. Developed and approved by the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish, and Parks, this manual introduces you to U.S. hunting regulations and provides general information about firearm equipment, basic shooting and hunting skills, ethics and safety, survival skills, and wildlife identification.

The Missouri River reservoir system coupled with forests, grasslands, and mountains provides habitat for deer, antelope, turkey, elk, bighorn sheep, and more.
